The Schuylkill County Historical Society will present a program on the 1963 Sheppton Mine disaster on Wednesday at 6:30 p.m. at 305 N. Centre St., in Pottsville.

Dave Williams, a mining engineer and society board member, will explain what went wrong and what went right in the rescue of three miners who were trapped for miles underground.
