Towamensing Scout, Takoda Terruta, earns Eagle

Takoda Terruta, son of Jose and Kelly Terruta of Towamensing Township, received the rank of Eagle Scout at a court of honor held in February in St. John’s Towamensing Lutheran Church.

For his Eagle project, Takoda poured three slabs of concrete for three picnic tables at Stoney Ridge Park in Lower Towamensing Township.

This project was done to lower the maintenance costs and preserve the picnic tables at the park.

State Rep. Doyle Heffley presented Takoda a citation from the state House of Representatives.

Takoda began his scouting career as a Tiger Scout with Troop 41 and moved to Troop 20 upon advancing to the Boy Scout ranks.

In addition to his scouting activities, Takoda played soccer for Palmerton Area High School. He graduated from the Carbon Career and Technical Institute in 2020, and is pursuing a career as an electrician.

At the court of honor, he thanked his parents, as well as Matt Wentz and Jimmy Schneck for their guidance throughout his scouting career.
