Pair of Easter egg hunts in Palmerton canceled

A pair of popular Easter egg hunts in Palmerton have been canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Susan Arner, event chairperson, posted on Facebook on Thursday afternoon that they will not be holding an egg hunt in the borough park this year.

“We realize some may and some may not agree with this decision, but it seemed the right thing to do considering all things,” Arner said. “Many apologies; it sure was a tough decision.”

Arner said the egg hunt sponsored by the Palmerton Chamber of Commerce, with assistance from the Aquashicola Fire Company, was scheduled for March 27.

Additionally, Arner said the egg hunt sponsored by Palmerton Memorial Park that was also scheduled to be held March 27 has been canceled as well.

“We hope to continue the tradition next year,” she said.
