Ice fishing comes to an end

Mike Galada of Beaver Meadows enjoys the sunny weather ice fishing on Mauch Chunk Lake, Tuesday. Although the lake is still frozen, Galada said this is likely the final week he’ll be able to do ice fishing. Warmer temperatures have begun thawing the shore line and making the ice on the lake more rough. He said this has been a good year for ice fishing, compared to the mild winter we had a year ago when he was able to enjoy the sport only for about a week. It won’t be long before fishermen can enjoy regular fishing, without cutting a hole in the ice. RON GOWER/SPECIAL TO THE TIMES NEWS
