The Parryville Borough Council met in a special meeting Saturday to approve wages for 2021 and finalize Act 537 sewage plan engineering oversight.
While there are no increases to salaries in the borough, the new budget includes the addition of a “seasonal skilled worker” category to distinguish part-time support for the roadmaster from other types of seasonal employees. This new category includes plow operators. Previously, their wages were included with other seasonal employees.
Despite frustrations, the council voted to retain the engineering services of Barry Isett and Associates to oversee Act 537 work because the borough would “have to pay a new firm about $67,000 to get to the same place we are now,” President Cathy Hawk said.
