Pocono Twp. police release details of fatal shooting

One man is dead and another is charged with homicide after an argument Tuesday night in Pocono Township.

Township police said the incident occurred at 6:25 p.m. in the parking lot of Swiftwater Luxury Apartments.

The Pocono Township Police Department, assisted by the Pennsylvania State Police, responded to and investigated a shooting that occurred in the parking lot of the apartments, located at 1940 Route 611, Swiftwater.

When police arrived on the scene, they discovered that Prince X. Brown, a 38-year-old man from Tobyhanna, had been shot twice. The victim was transported to St. Luke’s Monroe Campus in Bartonsville, where he was pronounced dead.

During the course of the investigation, it was determined that the victim and Jamaine Wilkins, a 49-year-old man also from Tobyhanna, had an argument which escalated to Wilkins shooting the victim.

Wilkins was taken into custody, charged with homicide, and transported to The Monroe County Correctional Facility to await arraignment.
