A woman has died after she was struck by a plow truck while walking by the side of the road on Route 940 in Tobyhanna Township Friday evening.

According to scanner reports, the incident occurred at 7:19 p.m. near Sir Bradford Road, Pocono Lake when a plow operator clipped a pedestrian who was walking by the side of the road.

The woman was pronounced dead at the scene at 7:35 p.m.

The Monroe County coroner’s office confirmed that a 36-year-old woman had died as a result of the incident.

The woman’s name has not been released because the next of kin has not yet been notified.

The incident remains under investigation.
