Two Monroe men charged with attempted homicide

Two Monroe County men, a father and son, are facing attempted homicide and related charges following an incident that occurred on Friday.

State police at Stroudsburg identified the two men as Frank Fedor, 48, and Andrew Fedor, 22, both of East Stroudsburg.

According to troopers at 9 a.m. on Friday troopers responded to the 600 block of Resica Falls Road in Middle Smithfield for shots fired into a gas station/convenience store near the occupied residence on the property. It was learned that about midnight someone shot eight rounds into the business and fled the scene. Due to the recent snow, the victim was able to follow the fresh and distinct tire marks to nearby Brushy Mountain Road and in the opposite direction of the victim’s other business, Mueller’s diner/bar.

Troopers said the victim obtained photographs of the distinct tire tracks and notified state police.

Troopers Jasmine Berrocal and Justin Leri observed Frank Fedor, on the surveillance at Mueller’s, and about 10 minutes later, in the same vehicle, a Toyota Tundra, appeared doing the shooting with matching tire tracks.

The county district attorney was notified of the incident and helped in obtaining search warrants. Troop N Vice was then requested to conduct surveillance of Fedor’s residence and was en route.

While traveling back to the barracks, Leri and Berrocal saw Fedor in the suspect vehicle at a gas station. Fedor was approached and initially provided statements regarding attempting to find “Bo,” the victim at Mueller’s, but was heavily intoxicated and “could not remember” anything else except driving around and drinking with his son, Andrew Fedor. Both were detained and Andrew Fedor was found to be in possession of a 9 mm handgun, similar to rounds used. The Tundra was secured pending a search warrant. Interviews were conducted at the barracks and search warrants were obtained for the vehicle, persons and residence.

Charges of attempted homicide and related charges were approved and the two men arrested and charged.
