Carbon election bureau has temporary new location

Carbon County officials want to remind residents who have business with the election bureau that there is a temporary change in location.

On Thursday, Commissioners Rocky Ahner and Chris Lukasevich said the election office is now located at 410 Center Ave., in the Jim Thorpe Administration Building for the next few months while renovations to 44 and 76 Susquehanna St. offices are completed.

Ahner said the drop box at 76 Susquehanna St. is not available and said you either have to take your election documents to the temporary location or mail them to Carbon County Bureau of Elections, 76 Susquehanna St., P.O. Box 170, Jim Thorpe, PA 18229.

“The P.O. box number is important because the elections personnel visit the post office daily, with the post office also holding mail there due to the renovations at the 76 Building,” Ahner said.

Lukasevich said that further information is on the Carbon County website with a Google map to show the new location.

People can also call the election bureau during business hours at 570-325-4801.
