County residents were reappointed to various positions at Wednesday’s commissioners meeting, effective Jan. 1.

Gary Bender, who is also the county administrator, David Briggs and Travis Smeltz will each serve a four-year term on the Schuylkill County Planning Commission. David Ambrose was reappointed to a five-year term on the zoning hearing board. Howard Merrick continues as a member of the Schuylkill County Municipal Authority for a five-year term.

Also at the meeting, cleaning contracts were awarded to TKO Cleaning Services, Pottsville, the only bidder, for the cleaning of the 911 Communications Center and the Children and Youth building. Cost for the two-year contract for the 911 Center is $10,800 yearly. The CYS cleaning contract is $24,000 each year of the two-year contract.
