Four part-time correction officers were given full-time positions with the Schuylkill County Prison on Wednesday.

At a special prison board meeting, Curtis Westcoat, Francisco Rodriguez, Alberto Ruiz and Kevin Miranda were promoted effective immediately. Locations and pay rates were not provided.

Prison board Chairman William E. Baldwin said the employees have completed their training.

“The warden has some shortages and needs some additional help,” Chief Sheriff’s Deputy Brian Tobin said.

Warden David Wapinsky said the employees tested very well.

“We’re happy with the four that we have today and hope they have entire careers with us,” he said.
