The Carbon County Commissioners, on Thursday, acted on or discussed the following items:
• Ratified the purchase of two 2020 Interceptor SUVs under Co-stars contract from Rottet Motors Inc. at a cost of $40,875.97 each for a total cost of $81,751.94. The cost will be reimbursed from the electronic monitoring fee fund.
• Approved the reappointment of Barbara Green of Lehighton to the Industrial Development Authority. Her term expires on Dec. 31, 2025.
• Approved a proposal with Radio Maintenance Inc. of Reading to upgrade the current CCTV system at the tower sites under a Co-stars contract. The cost for the project is $25,915.21 and will be covered under Act 12.
• Tabled the reappointment of Carbon Engineering Inc. as the county engineer for 2021 with no increase. The motion was tabled because Commissioner Chris Lukasevich asked that he have more time to review paperwork.
• Approved the workers’ compensation insurance for 2021 with Housing and Redevelopment Insurance Exchange in the amount of $345,050, which is a decrease $72,298.
• Lukasevich said grant letters for the second round of COVID-19 Relief Block Grants have been sent out and asked all entities who were awarded funds to complete the letter and send it back as soon as possible so that funds can be approved for distribution at the commissioners’ Dec. 24 meeting.
