Another arson in Polk Twp.

A fire that damaged a vacant residence early April 1 in Polk Township, Monroe County, has been ruled an arson.

State police Trooper Daniel Marotta, said a fire at 8744 Sherwood Drive, in the Robinhood Lakes Development, that was discovered at 4:51 a.m., was deliberately started.

Marotta noted that there has been multiple recent fires in the development which have been also determined to be arson.

In March crews responded to a vacant home at 8550 Robinhood Drive in Kunkletown’s Robin Hood Lake Estates at 2:15 a.m.

A house caught fire in a vacant home at 8775 Twin Lake Drive in Robin Hood Lakes development last October. The home, valued at $60,000, sustained major damage, but no injuries were reported.

Other Polk arsons were reported on Sept. 11 at 4862 Queens Way, and another in the development in July.

Police asked anyone with information regarding any of the fires or notice any suspicious activity or people in the area to call the Lehighton barracks at 610-681-1850.
