Mauch Chunk Museum to hold events

The Mauch Chunk Museum and Cultural Center in Jim Thorpe has announced the following events for the upcoming months. The museum is located at 41 W. Broadway.

New Year’s Eve

“Ring In 2020 with The Bees Knees” will take place from 8 p.m. to 12:30 a.m. on New Year’s Eve. There will be refreshments, dancing and more. There is a cost to attend.

In addition, there will also be a Kids Club for school-aged kids whose parents are attending the event. The club will include games, movies, crafts and more.

All proceeds from the event help the museum.

Elvis

The Ballroom at Mauch Chunk Museum will host Jeff “Elvis” Krick on Feb. 1.

Krick will take to the stage as a fundraiser for the museum.

Doors open at 6:30 p.m. An oldies show will take place form 7 to 8 and Elvis begins at 8:20 p.m.

Light refreshments are included in the ticket price.

Ice on the Mountain

“Ice on the Mountain,” a winter and county music concert will take place in the ballroom of the museum at 7 p.m. on Feb. 16.

The event features the harmonic voices of the local group, The Black Ties and Pearls with special guest appearance by April Walker and Reilly Bauer.

The winter adventure takes you through ice, snow and the beautiful south. Songs and dance that will help to warm up your “Frozen” winter toes. The special guest appearances by well-known characters that are sure to make the kids happy.

Doors open at 5:30 p.m. for a meet and greet with the characters and the ballroom opens at 6:30 p.m. for seating.

Children 12 and under receive a packet of cookies and milk with their tickets.

The Celtic Martins

The Celtic Martins will perform in concert at The Ballroom at the Mauch Chunk Museum and Cultural Center on March 7. Doors open at 6:15 p.m. and the show begins at 7.

The event kicks off the Celtic/Irish Festival in Jim Thorpe.

The shows features guitar, fiddle, dance and bagpipes.
