Dimmick holds local author book signing

The Dimmick Library is hosting a book signing with local author Lisa M. Miller from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday.

Miller is the author of the new young adult thriller “My Skull Possession.” This is her second novel.

“My Skull Possession” is about Brighton Corley, whose ordinary teenage life becomes far more thrilling when she forges a friendship with Kate Dorn, the charming new girl at school.

Together with an eccentric curiosity shop owner, the pair embarks on a journey to discover the truth behind the mysterious book responsible for paralyzing their town with fear and fascination.

Witchcraft, haunted dolls and stories of possession are some of the dark secrets they uncover in their search for answers in this book.

Miller was born and raised in Northeast Pennsylvania and has had a love of mystery and horror since she was a child.

During her years at King’s College, Miller studied communications and criminal justice. Her goal was to become an investigative reporter.

For over two decades, she worked in the broadcast world of television advertising and programming.

Miller joined the Pennwriters Group, attended a three-day conference, and submitted writing samples. It was here she received inspiration to pursue her dream of penning her first novel, “The Running Path,” which used her experience working for NBC and Fox affiliates as the background for her story.

Miller still resides in the area with her husband, sons and West Highland Terrier.

Besides writing, she moved over to the radio side of the media industry and tries to learn as much as possible about the craft beer world.

Dimmick Memorial Library is located at 54 Broadway, Jim Thorpe.
