Two drug arrests, warrant land man in jail

A McAdoo man was stopped by police twice in a two-week time period for driving without a license. Both times, he also ended up with drug charges.

Police stopped Jonathan Burget, 41, at 10:56 a.m. on Dec. 25 because they knew he did not have a valid license. A search of his vehicle found a small plastic bag of crystal methamphetamine, two cut plastic straws, a bundle of wax packets containing heroin and a THC vape pen cartridge. Police also found two scales, which police said Burget told them he used to weigh his meth to make sure he was getting the right amount.

He was charged with three counts of possession of a controlled substance and two traffic offenses.

On Jan. 7, at 9:36 p.m., Burget was stopped again by police. In plain sight, officers saw a white pill which was identified as Alprazolam, a controlled substance.

He was charged with possession and two traffic offenses.

A records check found an outstanding warrant for Burget’s arrest and he was taken to the Schuylkill County Prison in Pottsville.
