A bulk of the yards accumulated by Evans comes on an 81-yard scoring run in the third quarter. The Panthers, coached by Joe Leonzi, open the scoring in the first frame on a Gary Karnish 1-yard quarterback keeper. Karnish sparks the drive with key completions of 16 yards to Jim Mikovich and 13 yards to Bill Fauzio. The PV defense twice holds within the red zone, stopping the Wildcats at the 16 and 1.
