West Penn Township supervisors approved the following:

• A resolution for the township's 2017 community development block grant funding in the amount of $85,656 to be split into two components: township elderly home renovations, and assistance with sewage issues.• Hired Joseph Thomas as a full-time road crew employee at the rate of $16.50 per hour, effective Aug. 28.• Accepted the resignation of township auditor Thomas Gibiser, and appointed Robert Stegmeier to serve the remainder of his term, which expires Dec. 31.• Agreed to advertise for requests for proposals by noon Oct. 23 to help update the township's zoning ordinance.
