Northern Lehigh School Board last week approved the following personnel items:

• The resignation of Rodney Hausman from his position as middle shift custodian at Peters Elementary.• The administrative transfers of William Neal from third-grade teacher at Slatington Elementary School to fourth-grade teacher at Slatington Elementary School, with no change in salary, effective Aug. 21; and William Marks from second shift custodian at Slatington Elementary School to second shift custodian at the high school, from 2:30-11 p.m. Tuesday through Friday, and 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Saturday, at no change in salary, effective Aug. 7.• The appointments of James Schnyderite as secondary vocal music teacher, replacing Rachel Reiter, who resigned, at a salary of $58,825, effective Aug. 21; Shelby Bailey as eighth-grade reading teacher, replacing Catherine Grega, who retired, at a salary of $47,850, effective Aug. 21; Stephen Reimert as high school social studies teacher, at a salary of substitute teacher rate days 1-30 at $120 a day; with day 31 and beyond, $47,850, effective Aug. 21, with a termination date to be determined by the superintendent;Tamara Stubits as Slatington Elementary third-grade teacher, replacing Christina McShane, who was transferred to Peters Elementary, at a salary of $47,750, effective Aug. 21; Blasia Dunham as seventh-grade reading teacher, replacing Kathy Walter, who retired, at a salary of $56,475, effective Aug. 21; Sarah Fink as Peters Elementary kindergarten specials teacher, replacing a teacher on medical leave, at the substitute teacher rate days 1-30 at $120 a day; with day 31 and beyond $47,750, effective Aug. 21, with a termination date on or about Nov. 20;Shelly Pender as middle school cafeteria/hall monitor, replacing Veronica Scheffler, who resigned, at a salary of $10.93 per hour, 3.25 hours per day, five days a week up to 180 student days, effective Aug. 21; Tami Herman as lunch room monitor at Peters Elementary School, replacing Kellie Bechtel, who resigned, at a salary of $10.93 an hour, Monday through Friday, two hours per day, five days per week, up to 180 student days, effective Aug. 21; Jessica Jackovitz as lunch room monitor at Slatington Elementary School, replacing Heather VanBlargan, who resigned, at a salary of $10.93 an hour, Monday through Friday, 2.25 hours per day, five days per week, up to 180 student days, effective Aug. 21; and Robert Wetzel as second shift custodian at Slatington Elementary School, 2:30-11 p.m. Monday through Friday, replacing Marks, who was administratively transferred, at a salary of $13.07 per hour, eight hours per day, five days per week, with a half-hour unpaid lunch, effective Aug. 21.• The change of status for Jennifer Kuhns from two hours per day as a lunch room monitor at Slatington Elementary School to 2.25 hours per day, at no change in salary, effective Aug. 21.• Acknowledged that teachers Steven Jonkman and Kara Richardson have completed the requirements that would entitle them to a salary increase for the 2017-18 school year.• Approved professional employee status for teacher Krystal-Dawn Willing-Tiederman, who has satisfactorily completed three years of service in the district.• Approved Fink and Reimert as districtwide permanent substitute teachers for the 2017-18 school year, at a daily per diem rate of $120, and will receive district health benefits according to the Affordable Care Act regulations, with co-payment amounts equivalent to that of district personnel.• Renewed the appointment of the following substitute teachers for the 2017-18 school year: Thomas Battista, health and physical education; Kimberly Bayer, elementary 4-6, math 7-8; Janet Brostedt, elementary; James Fisher, social studies; Mary Frank, Art K-12, English as a Second Language; Jo Lyn Gazo, social studies, family & consumer science, library science; Ricky Guth, citizenship 7-12; Dylan Hofmann, health & physical education; Dawn Kemery, elementary; Lori King, elementary; Samantha Lilly, elementary & special education; Andrew Marth, physics & mathematics; Dakota Miller, elementary; Patricia Passick, art K-12; Linda Sarver, art; Candace Steffie, elementary; Scott Valentine, science 6-9, social studies 7-12; and Megan Wagner, elementary PK-4.• Renewed the appointment of Davina Blose, Crystal Buck, Holly Carlson, Heather Remaley, Christine Sigley, Chistina Tedaldi, Amanda Trelease, Janice Wasilkowski, Sheila White, and Claudia Young as substitute secretaries/aides for the 2017-18 school year; Blose, Crystal Buck, Carlson, Remaley, Sigley, Tedaldi, Trelease, Wasilkowski, White and Young as substitute cafeteria workers for the 2017-18 school year; and Carlson and Sabrina Clouse as substitute custodians for the 2016-17 school year.
