Pleasant Valley taps Triolo as principal

The district welcomed back Matthew Triolo earlier this year as an assistant principal at the high school. Triolo will now be replacing retiring principal, John Gress.

Triolo will assume his new duties beginning Aug. 1 at an annual salary of $95,000.

Other new hires include Kathleen Franklin, who will serve as secretary to new superintendent David Piperato. Franklin will receive an annual salary of $45,245.

Magen Snyder was hired as a confidential secretary for Human Resources at a rate of $41,925 annually.

Lori Hagerman, who has been employed at the intermediate school, was chosen to replace reading supervisor Keri Ramsay, who retired at the end of the school year. Hagerman will receive an annual salary of $83,400.

Incoming board director Laura Jecker praised the board for the promotions of Triolo and the Hagerman, saying that she has had the opportunity to work with both and was very pleased with the board's decision.

Likewise, Donna Yozwiak, also a director-elect, offered her praise to the board on the promotion of Triolo saying that the board made a great choice.

"He is a man of extreme integrity," Yozwiak stated.

Triolo thanked the board and made a pledge to work with everyone, and to try and make the high school the best it could possibly be.

Jecker also pressed the board regarding the continuing absences of director Steven Borger, who was not in attendance at the meeting.

"A letter has been sent to Mr. Borger and he has until July 1 to respond," said Board President Russell Gould.

"You have a vague policy, that no one wants to revise, and now you can't tell me what you will do next," Jecker said. "Are you going to advertise and interview like you did before?"

In other news, the All Sports Club's out-going president, Sue Bancroft, addressed the board and thanked them for all they had done to assist the club in having a very successful year. Bancroft singled out Director of Support Services, Josh Krebs, and his team for all of the hard work and assistance with all of the projects.

Bancroft stated that the club had contributed nearly $60,000 to the district during the school year. The list included $27,000 in equipment, $5,500 in donations, $14,000 in team training, $1,125 in awards, $4,000 in scholarships, and $6,000 in new sports equipment.

Gould thanked the All Sports Club for everything that they do for the district.
