Three Shull-David Elementary School teachers received a box of classroom supplies Wednesday courtesy of The Cellular Connection’s Culture of Good program.

Two employees from the Verizon Wireless store in Lehighton visited the school during a students of the month assembly to make the announcement.“The program is targeted at doing something nice for the students and staff, so around once a year we’ll choose a school in the community to select a few teachers to receive the supplies,” said Nikki Davies and Tanasha Wilson, technology consultants with Verizon Wireless. “It’s a great way of giving back and creating a positive atmosphere.”Michele Kirsch, kindergarten; Janine Matika, first grade; and Don Herman, second grade were selected to receive the supplies.Principal Aaron Sebelin said Verizon asked the school to nominate teachers for the honor.“We were very excited for this opportunity and left the decision up to the students,” Sebelin said at the assembly. The Culture of Good movement launched in 2013.According to the program’s website, 5,500 school supply packs are delivered to teachers nationwide during January and February.
