At Monday's reorganization meeting, Weissport welcomed one new council member and welcomed back a sitting member for an additional term.

Mayor Jonathan Troutman called the reorganization meeting to order and then performed the oath of office to two council members. Council member Greg May was appointed to fill the vacancy left by the resignation of Paulette Watson, and re-elected council member Arland Moyer took the oath of office.Council member Gene Kershner was elected council president, Moyer was elected council vice president and Brenda Leiby was elected president pro tem.Kershner appointed members to committees. Streets and Flood Levy Committee members are Moyer and May. Leiby and Linda Schoenberger serve on both the Parks and Recreation and Police and Safety committees. Finance committee members are Kershner and Moyer. May and Kershner were appointed to the Property committee.During the monthly meeting of borough council, Lynnette Moyer was appointed to the position of tax collector. This position was vacated last month with the resignation of Theresa Troutman. Lynnette Moyer is the wife of council member Arland Moyer.
