A Schuylkill County judge revoked the parole of a Tamaqua man charged with reckless endangerment in the death of his infant son last year.

Joseph E. Kuhla, 23, had pleaded guilty on Dec. 10, 2014, to recklessly endangering another person and was sentenced by Schuylkill County Judge Charles J. Miller to 15 days to 12 months in jail.On Dec. 4, Miller revoked his bail and sent him back to jail to serve the original sentence, with a loss of the 76 days he was free. That means Kuhla's new maximum release date is March 11, 2016.Kuhla can apply for parole again on Jan. 9, 2016. Miller ordered Kuhla to continue drug and alcohol treatment upon his release.Kuhla, along with Alyssa Shellhammer, 23, were charged by Tamaqua police in the death of their 6-week-old infant son, Bronx Kuhla.According to court papers filed by Cpl. Henry Woods, officers and emergency medical personnel were dispatched to 307 Arlington St. at 2:30 a.m. Feb. 5, 2014, for an unresponsive child.Attempts were made at the scene to revive the child, who was not breathing. Ambulance personnel then transported the baby to St. Luke's Hospital-Miners Campus in Coaldale, where Bronx was declared dead a short time later.In the first interviews conducted by Woods, Shellhammer claimed Bronx was sleeping in a pack-and-play and she discovered he was not breathing when Kuhla woke up to use the bathroom.Kuhla corroborated that account, at first. He later told investigators the couple had placed the baby in bed with them and their three other children.When one of the children awoke, crying, he went to use the bathroom. Shellhammer then discovered the unresponsive infant and they called 911.
