The Carbon County Navy Club is working to remember military men and women who served and are serving in the Navy, Coast Guard, Marines and Merchant Marine.

Robert "Ski" Siesputowski, a Navy veteran and member of the Carbon County Navy Club, said the club is working on creating a memorial for all waterborne veterans, past, present and future, to be placed in Lansford. The plaque will be similar to the one that was created in Summit Hill earlier this year.Siesputowski said that with the permission of Lansford Borough, the club will erect the small monument, but donations are needed.Send checks, made payable to the Carbon County Navy Club, to Siesputowski at 219 W. White St., Summit Hill, PA 18250.Siesputowski said the club hopes to have the project completed by Memorial Day.
