A young woman escaped serious injury Sunday evening in a crash along Route 443 in Mahoning Township.

The woman was traveling east in a late -model Mazda Miata convertible when the car left the road, striking several trees before re-entering the roadway, rolling several times and coming to rest on its roof.The victim was freed from the wreckage and apparently refused medical treatment at the scene by members of the Mahoning Valley ambulance. Responding was the Mahoning Valley Fire Company, whose fire police shut down the roadway for over an hour, diverting traffic around the scene.The crash occurred in front of the Times News building. Mahoning Township police are investigating the incident.
