DECEMBER 12, 1984The Carbon County Commissioners tentatively adopted a budget for 1985 of $16.2 million that is balanced by nearly $1 million in cash and investments, and anticipates an end-of-the-year balance of $37,544.Chairman Albert U. Koch said the 17-mill rate on real estate property will be retained. However, the county will eliminate the controversial occupational tax. A new $5 per capita tax will more than compensate for the loss of the occupational tax revenues. The budget represents an increase of more than $2.2 million over the current budget of $14 million.
