Schuylkill County Commissioners have extended the contract dates associated with the construction renovations for its new Children & Youth building.

Commissioners on Wednesday agreed to extend the contract dates for construction renovations for the building at 324 N. Centre St. with Miller Bros. Construction Inc; Albarell Electric Inc., Bognet Inc. and Spotts Brothers Inc. until Jan. 29.The current contract expiration date is Dec. 15.In a related matter, commissioners approved a lease agreement with the Pottsville Parking Authority for parking spaces for Human Services Complex and Children & Youth employees for the period Jan. 1 through Dec. 31, 2016.Prices are: 90 spaces at the Capitol Parking Garage at $31.50 per space per month; 14 permit parking spaces on the 200 block of Laurel Boulevard at $21 per space per month; and six spaces at the Arch Street Lot at $31.50 per space per month.Commissioners also approved a change order in the amount of $6,695 to Office Service Company of Reading for the purchase of chair mats and window treatments for the building.The chair mats portion is $4,078 and the window treatments are $2,616. This purchase is being made through a COSTARS contract.In other businessCommissioners also:• Agreed to spend $102,134 to renew a software support agreement with Infor Emergency Systems of Tampa, Florida, for support of its CAD system that was installed in 2002. Two payments of $34,000 will be made, and one payment of $34,134. The contract runs Jan. 1 through Dec. 31, 2016.• Approved the retirement of Gloria Bartol from her position as caseworker 2, effective Dec. 31.• Appointed Corey Cromyak as deputy coroner/investigator, effective Dec. 14.• Approved the resignation of Shawn McGinley, social services aide 2, effective Nov. 25.• Appointed Andrew Serina as part-time assistant district attorney, at the rate of $25,000 per year, effective Jan. 4, 2016. This position is paid for by a grant.• Appointed Nicole Conway as per diem PFA coordinator, at the rate of $10 per hour, effective Dec. 14. This position was created to fill in for a full-time employee who is out on leave.• Approved the resignation of Allan Smith, correction officer, effective Nov. 24 and Joshua Hart as deputy coroner/investigator, effective June 1.• Appointed Olivia Long to an unpaid internship, effective Feb. 1, and Erika Brilla as an unpaid intern, effective Jan. 19.
