Historical society

The Summit Hill Historical Society will conduct the monthly meeting at 7 p.m. Dec. 16 at the museum on West Ludlow Street.Agenda items include election of officers, review of 2015 events, and plans for 2016 activities. After a short meeting members will enjoy their covered-dish holiday party.All members and friends of the historical society are welcome.Golden AgersThirty-eight members of the Panther Valley Golden Agers attended the annual Christmas party, held at DiMaggio's Restaurant in Tamaqua on Nov. 22.Special entertainment was provided by the Bell Choir of the Salvation Army under the direction of Dina Depos.The next meeting will be held at 1 p.m. Monday at St. John's Slovak Lutheran Church Social Hall. Members celebrating birthdays in September, October, November and December will be recognized.This will be the last meeting until April 11. No meetings will be held January, February and March.VFW partyThe annual Nesquehoning VFW Auxiliary Christmas party will be held on Tuesday beginning at 6 p.m., at Lengyel's Restaurant.
