Coaldale Borough Council also passed a 2016 budget Tuesday night that keeps taxes at their current levels.

The 2016 budget includes a total of $1,902,597.34 in expenses. That is less than a 1 percent increase over the 2015 budget.The tax rate will remain at 25.04 mills. That includes a 2-mill streetlight tax, 1-mill fire tax, 0.5 mill tax for the borough's pension fund, and 21.54 mills toward the general fund.- Chris Reber
