Four defendants, who previously pleaded guilty to driving under the influence, were sentenced Monday in Carbon County court.

Judge Joseph J. Matika imposed sentences on the following:Matthew Drake Graham, 34, of White Haven, was arrested on July 20, 2014, after being stopped for erratic driving along Route 93 by Beaver Meadows police. A test showed the presence of a controlled substance.Matika sentenced him to serve 90 days to 24 months in prison followed by three years of probation, a fine of $1,500, license suspended for 18 months, render 100 hours of community service and zero tolerance for drug and alcohol use.He was given credit for 103 days spent in inpatient rehabilitation programs and was paroled.Matthew Bernard Hiles, 31, of Tamaqua, was arrested on April 5 along Hazard Street by Summit Hill police. A test showed a 0.10 BAC.Matika placed Hiles in the Intermediate Punishment Program (house arrest) for six months with the first 15 days on electronic monitoring, pay a fine of $300, license suspended for a year, zero tolerance for drug and alcohol use, and render 25 hours of community service. The IPP placement will be handled by Schuylkill County.Nelson DeJesus, 25, of Hazleton, was arrested on Nov. 9, 2013, by Nesquehoning police following a traffic stop. A test showed the presence of a controlled substance.Matika sentenced him to serve 72 hours to six months in jail, a fine of $1,000, license suspended for a year, zero tolerance for drug and alcohol use, and render 25 hours of community service. He was given credit for 35 days spent in prison on the charge and paroled.Jerry Dean Seiler, 41, of Lehighton, was arrested on July 9 by state police at Lehighton following a traffic stop.A first offense, he was placed on probation for six months and ordered to pay a fine of $300 and render 25 hours of community service.Each defendant must also pay court costs of about $1,000, and a $50 per month supervision fee while on probation or parole.
