Police arrest man wanted on warrant

A man wanted in connection with an August incident was apprehended by Tamaqua police on Oct. 21.

Joseph Redner, 38, of 435 E. Elm St., Tamaqua, was picked up on an outstanding warrant as he was walking on Greenwood Street. He was wanted on charges of possession of drug paraphernalia and receiving stolen property that were filed on Aug. 24.On that day, at 6:42 p.m., police were dispatched to 325 Penn St., for an unwanted person. They found Redner, a glass pipe, syringes and a variety of items that had recently been stolen from numerous vehicles.Redner failed to appear for his arraignment and a warrant was issued for his arrest.After he was picked up, he was arraigned before District Judge Stephen Bayer, of Tamaqua, who set bail at $10,000. Unable to post the required 10 percent, Redner was taken to the Schuylkill County prison in Pottsville.
