Lehighton woman sentenced after admitting drug sale

A Lehighton woman was sentenced to a county prison term on Tuesday after previously admitting selling drugs.

Celeste Hawk, 20, was sentenced by Judge Steven R. Serfass to serve a total of one day less 12 to one day less 24 months in the county prison on two counts of possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance. The prison term will be followed by 24 months of probation.Hawk previously admitted selling oxycodone to an undercover agent of the state Attorney General's office on March 14 and 22, 2013, in Lehighton.Serfass also ordered Hawk to get a drug and alcohol evaluation and follow any recommendations for treatment, zero tolerance imposed on D&A use, render 300 hours of community service when released on parole, pay court costs of about $1,000, pay a $50 per month supervision fee while on parole and probation, and supply a DNA sample.She also previously pleaded to one count of driving under the influence of a controlled substance for an incident on Feb. 27.In that case she was sentenced to serve 72 hours to 6 months in jail, a fine of $1,000, license suspended for a year and render 25 hours of community service.The jail time runs concurrent with the drug case.Hawk, who is currently an inmate in the county prison on the charges, was given credit for 116 days.She was also granted work release privileges if she can secure approved employment.
