Carbon County District Attorney Jean Engler will hold a fraud prevention seminar for nonprofit organizations at 7 p.m. Wednesday at the Carbon County Emergency Management Agency/Communications Center in Nesquehoning.

CPA John Nonnemacher will review financial and other controls that nonprofits can take to prevent, deter and detect fraudulent financial activity. It will also cover how to receive tax exempt status from the Internal Revenue Service and other related federal and state reporting requirements.Local, nonprofit organizations, including fire and ambulance companies, church and religious organizations, parent-teacher organizations and youth sports groups are encouraged to attend.To reserve a spot at the seminar, call the district attorney's office at 570-325-2718.
