McAdoo driver facing DUI

A traffic stop in Tamaqua on Aug. 18 resulted in driving under the influence charges for a McAdoo man.

An officer was monitoring traffic at 2:31 a.m. at the north end of town when he observed a white SUV traveling at a high rate of speed as it exited the borough. The SUV then passed another vehicle in the no passing zone in front of the Jeep dealership.The officer followed the vehicle until it pulled over in the area of Rymin Road in Rush Township. The driver was identified as Victor B. Craig, 38, of 107 S. Sheridan St.A strong odor of alcohol wafted from the driver's mouth as he spoke with the officer. A records check indicated that Craig's driver's license was suspended. He was given, and failed, field sobriety tests. A pre-breath test was positive for alcohol, registering a 0.09. Craig refused to submit to blood testing.He was cited for DUI of alcohol, driving with a suspended license and passing in a no passing zone.
