A Northumberland County man has been charged with sexually assaulting a young boy in Schuylkill County.

State police at Frackville said Johnathan Rockwell Grove, 27, was arrested on Wednesday in the Harrisburg area on a warrant issued earlier this month. He is charged with rape and related charges involving a young boy from Schuylkill County. The assaults allegedly occurred in Gilberton borough.Troopers said in August 2014 they received a report of a series of sexual assaults which had occurred in 2003. The victim identified Grove as the perpetrator of the crimes. An investigation then began.A subsequent investigation indicated that Grove had sexually assaulted the male about five or six times. In July the Schuylkill County District Attorney's Office approved charges against Grove. An arrest warrant was obtained on July 22.With the assistance of the Northumberland County Probation Office and state police at Harrisburg Grove was located Wednesday and taken into custody.He was arraigned before District Judge Christina Hale, of Frackville, and committed to the county prison in Pottsville after failing to post $50,000 straight cash bail.
