Expect delays if traveling the Northeast Extension northbound

The Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission advises motorists traveling northbound on the Northeastern Extension (I-476) between the Mahoning Valley (Exit 74) and Pocono (Exit 95) Interchanges, to be prepared for a single-lane traffic pattern to be in effect from 7 a.m. today through 3 p.m. Thursday.

At 7 a.m. construction crews established a single-lane pattern northbound, closing the right lane between milepost A90-A91.5 for slope remediation. The pattern will remain in place until 3 p.m. Thursday.Motorists traveling north from Mahoning Valley should anticipate reduced speeds and slow moving or stopped traffic until the pattern is lifted on Thursday. All work is weather permitting and could be rescheduled.Motorists are urged to obey posted 40/55 mph speed limits and use extra caution when approaching all work areas.
