Mark Rudenko, 15, son of Mr. and Mrs. Russell Rudenko, 166 Orwigsburg St., Tamaqua, is in guarded condition at Allentown-Sacred Heart Hospital today following a 100-foot fall into an abandoned pit on the Tamaqua South Mountain.

A hospital spokesman says he suffered head lacerations and a broken clavicle (collar bone) in the fall.The Rudenko family thought Mark might have been detained at track practice, his grandmother, Mrs. Doris Huegel, told the Times News today.
