There will be full chorus numbers as well as many solos, duets, trios and group numbers.
The full group will be performing "Let it Go" from Disney's hit movie, Frozen. This song will feature Tara Crowe in a solo.
The large group will also perform "You Can't Stop the Beat" from the "Broadway" musical and movie, Hairspray.
There is a wide array of music from many Broadway shows and movie musicals including "Ragtime," "Aida," "Thoroughly Modern Mille," "Newsies," "Spring Awakening," "Chicago," "The Secret Garden" and more.
Soloists include Doug Rau, Casi Reichard, Becky Herd, Kristen Campbell, Tara Crowe, Evy Heckman, Jessica Schafer
and Laura Cressley.
Other members of the group will be featured in the group numbers.
Zion Opera Workshop is under the direction of Bradly R. Cressley with stage direction by Jessica Schafer. The technical directors are Pati and Duane Reichard and staff choreographer is Deb Strausberger.
Accompanist for this event is Laura Cressley. Choreography was created by Laura Cressley, Jessica Schafer and Brad Cressley.
In the event of rain, the concert will be held in Smith Auditorium, Zion UCC, Second and Iron streets.
The group, formed in 1970 by Paul and Linn Smith, performs a Broadway style musical each year in Smith Auditorium of Zion United Church of Christ, Lehighton.
Bradley Cressley said, "Musical comedies are the core choice for Zion Opera Workshop, but there are many songs from more dramatic and contemporary shows as well as songs with a smaller cast that our members love to perform."
He said, "The musical revue that is being planned allots the members the opportunity to do these songs that would otherwise not be performed by Zion Opera Workshop."
