Three Tamaqua women have been cited following an altercation in the borough on April 16.

Ashley Bynon, Melissa Baer, and Ashley Weirich, all 19, allegedly attacked Nicole Hazlett, of Tamaqua, in the Mauch Chunk/Greenwood Street area. According to police Hazlett was walking with a friend when Weirich struck her. Bynon then attacked her from the rear while Baer recorded it on a cell phone. The three assailants, according to witnesses, knew that Hazlett had sustained a head injury in an accident, but continued to strike her in the head.Officers were able to see a hematoma on the victim's forehead, a cut inside her mouth, and bruising around her right eye.The trio was charged with simple assault, reckless endangerment, and disorderly conduct.
