State police at Schuylkill Haven reported on the following crashes probed by troopers on Schuylkill County roads.

A two-vehicle crash occurred about 9 a.m. on Sept. 5 along SR125 in Pine Grove Township. Troopers said Michael R. Sandler, 24, of Schuylkill Haven, was driving a 2007 Pontiac Torrent southbound and was behind a 2004 Chevrolet Cavalier driven by Bradley R. Jones, 23, of Pine Grove.

As both drivers approached the intersection with Sweet Arrow Lake Road, Jones slowed to make a left turn and his vehicle was struck in the rear by Sandler's.

No one was injured. The Torrent had to be towed from the scene. Troopers cited Sandler for following too closely.

A hit-and-run crash was reported on Sept. 5 about 7:05 p.m. A vehicle was driven westbound on Schuylkill Street, in Cressona, when the driver over-compensated from a slight right curve and struck two parked vehicles on their right sides. The driver then fled the scene.

A motorcycle and pickup truck collided in a crash along SR895 in West Brunswick Township about 12:50 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 7. Troopers said Joshua E. Rogers, 27, of Orwigsburg, was driving a 2000 Mazda B2500 pickup truck eastbound while Thomas L. Haag, 46, of Auburn, was operating a 2013 Harley Davidson Street Glide bike westbound. Rogers attempted a left turn into a parking lot and crossed the westbound lane in front of Haag and a collision occurred.

Both drivers were taken to the Schuylkill Medical Center (SMC)-S. Jackson Street, Pottsville. Damages were termed major to both vehicles.

Rogers was cited for vehicle turning left.

A three-vehicle, rear-end crash was reported about 2:35 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 8, along SR61 in West Brunswick Township, just north of SR895.

Troopers said Anthony J. Fontana Jr., 45, of Philadelphia, driving a 1996 Honda Accord, Marilyn Deleon-Cruz, 44, of Cressona, driving a 2007 Ford Mustang, and Ciara S. Hosler, 21, of Girardville, driving a 1995 Ford Explorer, were all southbound and traveling through a construction zone. As Deleon-Cruz and Hosler slowed down, Fontana failed to see the slowing vehicles and his vehicle hit the rear of the Mustang pushing it into the rear of the Explorer.

A passenger with Deleon-Cruz, a 16-year-old female from Cressona, was injured and taken to the SMC-S. No one else was injured. Troopers cited Fontana for driving a vehicle at an (un) safe speed.
