The Senior Citizens Group at Zion Lutheran in Brodheadsville will meet at 11 a.m., Thursday, June 20. Participants are reminded to bring a sandwich. Beverages are provided.
The group is for folks 50 or older.
Beginning at 8 a.m. on Saturday, June 22, the Ross Township Park Committee will be adding mulch to the playground on Anchorage Road in Saylorsburg. Volunteers are asked to bring a rake, shovel or wheelbarrow and help renovate the play areas.

Food pantry open
Effort UMC's food pantry serves families in Effort, Gilbert, Kunkletown, Kresgeville, Brodheadsville, Saylorsburg, Sciota and Albrightsville going through emergency or short-term situation who are not eligible for local, county or state programs. Help is limited to an 8-week duration per family.
A valid driver's license or state ID to prove West End residency is required. Hours are from 10 a.m. to noon the second and fourth Saturday of the month. The next giving day is June 22.
The pantry is located at Effort UMC on Merwinsburg Road in Effort.
The West End Park & Open Space Commission and Chestnuthill Township will host a free concert at the Chestnuthill Park, Route 715, Brodheadsville.
Leigh Lombardo-Cole and Chris Eckert will appear at 6 p.m., Sunday, June 23 in the new bandshell, featuring the music of Neil Diamond, Patsy Cline, James Taylor, Barbara Mandrel and more.
Knit and crochet
On Tuesday, June 25, beginning at 1 p.m., Zion Lutheran's knit and crochet Group will meet to do outreach work and create projects for people in need.
On June 26, Kathy Uhler from the Pocono Wildlife Rehabilitation Center will be at the Western Pocono Community Library at 1 p.m. for a program featuring underground creatures.
Free sports camp
Pleasant Valley Assembly of God, 1 Warren Lane in Brodheadsville, is hosting a free sports camp for children ages pre-K through 6th grade. Camp will run from 6-8:30 p.m. from June 23-27 at the church.
Crafts will be offered for pre-K children while sports will be offered for grades 1-6.

The Western Pocono Lioness and the West End Park Commission are sponsoring a free patriotic coloring contest for children ages 5-12 at the Chestnuthill Park.
The activity will take place from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., Saturday, June 29. It will include coloring, crafts, free ice cream for all contestants, writing a letter to a soldier and bringing a donation for Operation Touch of Home.
Children must be present in order to win.
