SHCIO donates $47,000 to SH organizations

Santa Claus came in the form of SHCIO to three organizations in Summit Hill.

SHCIO - the Summit Hill Community Improvement Organization - donated a collective total of $47,000 to the three groups.The Diligence Fire Company was given $40,000 toward the truck fund.The Summit Hill Historical Society received a $5,000 check.The Summit Hill Heritage Center got $2,000."The Summit Hill Community Improvement Organization has been helping groups in town for several years," Michele Toniatti, treasurer of SHCIO, said. "Several organizations from the community requested money to help with improvements or purchase equipment."She said SHCIO agreed on the three organizations mentioned above to receive donations.In other business by SHCIO, new officers for 2013 were elected.Harry Miller was named president; Karen Ruzicka was elected vice president and secretary, and Debra Ranck was elected treasurer.The outgoing slate of officers are Maxine Vermillion, president; Mary Ann Szczecina, vice president; Toniatti, treasurer; and Kira Michalik, secretary.
