Several defendants in pending criminal cases entered guilty pleas on Tuesday in Carbon County court before Judge Joseph J. Matika.

Those who pleaded included:Kerri A. Blasko, 44, of Nesquehoning, pleaded guilty to one count each of theft by failure to make required distribution of funds and receiving stolen property.She was arrested by Palmerton police for an incident in which she was the executor of an estate and received a payment but failed to properly deposit it. There is a question concerning total restitution due so Matika deferred sentencing to a later date.Robin Scott Rhyder, 49, of Lehighton, pleaded to one count of DUI, a first offense. He was arrested on Oct. 26, 2011, along SR248 in Parryville, by state police at Lehighton. Given a test, the result was .15BAC.Matika placed him on probation for six months and ordered he get a drug and alcohol (D&A) evaluation and follow any recommendation for treatment, pay a fine of $300, and render 25 hours of community service. On a summary motor vehicle code charge he was fined $75 and costs.Rebecca Ann Urban, 24, of Palmerton, pleaded to one count of DUI. She was arrested on Nov. 11, 2011, along Mauch Chunk Road by Palmerton police. Given a test, the result was .10BAC.She was sentenced to serve five days to six months in jail, pay a fine of $300, one year license suspension, get a D&A evaluation, zero tolerance on D&A use, and render 25 hours of community service.She will begin the jail term at 11 a.m. on June 4.Eric R. Zuber, 30, of Lansford, pleaded to one count of DUI. He was arrested on Oct. 9, 2010, along Patterson St., in Lansford, by borough police. Given a test, the result showed the presence of a controlled substance.Matika sentenced him to serve 72 hours to six months in jail, a fine of $1,000, one year license suspension, get a D&A evaluation, and render 25 hours of community service.He will begin the jail term at 5 p.m. on June 1.Troy Lee Mamuzich, 21, of Bethlehem, pleaded to one count of corruption of a minor. He was arrested by state police at Lehighton for an incident in which the BZ-Bee in Bowmanstown was entered. Taken in the entry was 25 cartons of cigarettes and $400 in U.S. currency. There are two other defendants in the incident, including a juvenile.Matika deferred sentencing and ordered the adult probation office to prepare a presentence investigation (PSI) report.Amanda Reed, 31, of Summit Hill, pleaded to one count of possession of drug paraphernalia. She was arrested on Oct. 6, 2011, in Summit Hill following a vehicle stop. She was a passenger in the vehicle.Matika placed her on probation for six months and ordered she get a D&A evaluation and render 25 hours of community service.Sherri Ann Simmons, 44, of Lehighton, pleaded to one count of DUI, a first offense. She was arrested on Sept. 2, 2011, along Market St., in Frannklin Township. Given a test, the result was .24BAC.She was placed on probation for six months and ordered to pay a fine of $300, get a D&A evaluation, zero tolerance on D&A use, and render 25 hours of community service.James Burns, 29, of Freeland, pleaded to one count of theft, as a felony three. He was arrested by Kidder Township police for an incident at the White Haven Veterinary Hospital, White Haven, where he admitted taking $100 in cash and various pet products and medicines valued at $10,103.46.Matika deferred sentencing due to a question on restitution.Nicole Hinkson, 31, of Summit Hill, pleaded to one count of forgery. She was charged by Franklin Township police with paying for an oil bill to R.H. Ohl Fuel Company with a check made out to someone else and on a closed account.Matika placed her on probation for 18 months and ordered she make restitution of $1,899.60, and render 75 hours of community service.Adam Jude Coleman, 24, of Lansford, pleaded to one count of DUI. He was arrested on Dec. 21, 2011, along Lentz Trail in Summit Hill. His vehicle left the road and collided into a utility pole. Given a test, the result showed a .23BAC.Matika sentenced him to serve 48 hours to six months in jail, pay a fine of $500, one year license suspension, get a D&A evaluation, make restitution of $6,935 to PPL for the pole damages, and render 25 hours of community service.He was given credit for one day spent in jail and will serve the remaining day beginning at 9 a.m. on June 2.Emilio Humberto Torrres, 21, of Allentown, pleaded to one count of possession of a small amount of marijuana. He was arrested on June 7, 2009, along Pohopoco Dive in Franklin Township following a vehicle stop. He was a passenger in the vehicle.Matika sentenced him to time served (five days in jail) and ordered he get a D&A evaluation and pay a fine of $350.SentencedJames Edward Behler, 48, of Lehighton, was sentenced on counts of DUI and recklessly endangering another person. He previously pleaded guilty to the charges.He was arrested for an incident on Jan. 5 when he was found behind the wheel of a vehicle intoxicated with his Austic child in the vehicle.Matika said he was brothered by the facts of the case because of the child in the car.On the DUI charge he was placed on probation for six months and ordered to pay a fine of $300, get a D&A evaluation, zero tolerance on D&A use, and render 25 hours of community service.On the recklessly endangering charge he was sentenced to serve 15 days to 12 months in prison. On a summary charge of failure to wear a seat belt he was fined $10 and costs.He will serve the jail term on consecutive weekends beginning May 25 at 9 a.m.ARD placementsTwo defendants were placed in the county's Accelerated Rehabilitation Disposition (ARD) probation program for first time offenders. If they successfully complete all conditions of the program their record will be wiped clean.Placed were:Kodi L. Klinetop, 20, of White Haven, was placed for a year on a charge of criminal conspiracy-theft. He was arrested by Weatherly police on June 20, 2011, for stealing four street signs.He was assessed $500 for the program and ordered to make restitution to the borough for $123.76, and render 50 hours of community service.Jared Peter Quiles, 24, of Egg Harbor, N.J., was placed for a year on a charge of theft. He was arrested by state police at Lehighton for his part in the theft of a snowboard at the Blue Mountain Ski Resort in Lower Towamensing Township on Jan. 10.He was assessed $500 for the program, make restitution in an amount to be determined by the adult probation office, and render 50 hours of community service.All defendants sentenced must also pay court costs, which average about $1,000, and a $50 per month supervision fee while on probation or parole.
