It was reported in yesterday's story about Tamaqua Police officer Matt Bynon that Tamaqua Police Chief Dave Mattson contacted the Attorney General. Mattson contacted the District Attorney, not the Attorney General. On Dec. 13, 2011, Mattson received information of possible criminal activity involving a Tamaqua police officer and contacted the District Attorney's (DA's) office in regards to this case. The DA then referred this case to the PA State Police for investigation. The charge of "selling or furnishing liquor or malt or brew beverage to a minor" was filed on March 1, 2012 as a result of the investigation.
