Kaufman, both of Mahanoy City. They were married Aug. 27, 2005.Medical suitA jury began hearing testimony in a medical liability suit brought by Joan (Joni) Kobige and Robert M. Kobige, 229 Stadium St., Minersville, against The Good Samaritan Regional Medical Center and Schuylkill Medical Center, 700 E. Norwegian St., Pottsville; and Dr. Haywood Blum, Pottsville.The suit is on behalf of Mrs. Kobige who claims the defendants failed to provide proper medical treatment in failing to diagnose and recognize her developing an abdominal abscess and perforation of her viscus and sigmoid colon starting Aug. 25, 2007, in the emergency room and admission Sept. 1, 2007, as allegedly her medical condition deteriorated.First offenderJordan Michael Zedonek, 21, Minersville, was qualified by District Attorney Karen Byrnes Noon to be placed in the Accelerated Rehabilative Disposition (ARD) probation program because it was his first offense in committing a non-violent crime.He was cited by Minersville Patrolman Jason A. Klouser, last August with driving under the influence (DUI) of alcohol. Judge Cyrus Palmer Dolbin admitted him into the program for 12 months and ordered he pay a $500 assessment fee to defray cost of the program, pay $100 to the Substance Abuse Education fund, $50 to the Criminal Justice Enhancement Account, $60 to the Schuylkill Medical Center, enroll and successfully complete the alcohol highway safe driving school, pay a $50 monthly supervision fee, perform 10 hours of community service and his driver's license is suspended 30 days. If he completes all conditions of the program his record will be cleared.Contract breachCove Village Association Inc., Zion Grove R.1, North Union Township, filed a breach of contract suit against Commonwealth Properties, Incline Village, Nev., and Jacob Throne, 302 E. Market St., Brockton, Box 231.In the suit Throne is listed as the president, secretary, treasurer and director of Commonwealth Properties. The company is reported owners of a townhouse, known as 200 S. Cove Mountain Drive, also known as 20 Squirrel Drive, in the Cove Village Development. In the suit Cove Village alleges for provision of essential services for the operation and maintenance and preservation of a common element in the subdivision that Commonwealth Properties and Throne failed to make payments for the services. A bill of $21,676.66 is allegedly owed.
