Shane Mulligan, a junior student at Tamaqua Area High School, has been selected to participate in the 2012 District 10 Chorus Festival at Bangor Area High School. The event is a three day vocal music festival beginning on Jan. 26 that culminates with two concerts for the public on Friday, Jan. 27 and Saturday, Jan. 28. Students from Berks, Carbon, Lehigh, Monroe, Northampton and Schuylkill counties are selected to participate in the festival through audition. The guest conductor for this year's festival is Dr. Blaine Shover, Professor of Music at Shippensburg University. This marks the second year that Mulligan has been selected for the District 10 Chorus. He is the son of Ildiko and Tom Maurer of Tamaqua and John Mulligan.
