A Lehigh County driver is facing a charge of driving under the influence (DUI) following a crash that occurred on Thursday, May 3, along Kings Highway (SR143), near Gun Club Road, in Lynn Township.

State police at Fogelsville said Diane M. Saeger, 41, of New Tripoli, was operating a 2003 Toyota 4Runner westbound and negotiating a left curve. The vehicle went onto the berm where Saeger attempted to regain control. The vehicle traveled about 180 feet westbound where it struck a tree head-on. Saeger was injured and taken to the Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Township, by Northwestern ambulance.

Troopers said alcohol may have played a role and a blood test was administrated to Saeger. The DUI charge is pending test results.
