Shockers, Towamensing split
The Franklin Township Shockers and Towamensing Township played a pair of tight games in Keystone Senior Babe Ruth League action over the weekend.

Towamensing Township and the Franklin Township Shockers split a in Keystone Senior Babe Ruth League doubleheader on Saturday.
In the opener, Towamensing posted a 5-4 victory.KeKoa Mook, Ryan Saylor and Tyler Svetik all had a hit and an RBI for Towamensing. Greg Wierbiki went the fistance on the mound, striking out 11, to pick up the victory.
For Franklin Township, Alex Storm had two hits and knocked in a run. AJ Wenrich and Anthony Rossino both added a hit and one RBI.
In the nightcap, Franklin Township pulled out a 6-4 nine-inning victory.
Thatcher David had two hits and scored a pair of runs for the Shockers. James Farano added a double and two RBIs.
For Towamensing, Mook had three hits and an RBI. Rich Steigerwalt and Saylor both chipped in two hits.

Jim Thorpe Blue defeated Towamensing Township, 15-14, in the loser's bracket final of the District 18 9-10 year-old Little League Tournament on Saturday.
Sebastin Rodriguez was 4-for-5 with two doubles including the game winning double in the sixth for Jim Thorpe Blue. He also picked up the win on the mound. Evan Dart was 4-for-4 with two doubles. Joe Kamienecki and Nate Rosahac both added three hits.
Brock Bollinger had four hits Towamensing Township. Blake Eitner added two hits.

Evan Dart's drove in the go-ahead runs in the top of the sixth inning as Jim Thorpe Blue edged Tamaqua Blue, 3-1 in District 18 9-10 year-old Little League Tournament play on Sunday.
Both teams now have one loss in the double-elimination tournament. They will meet for the South Division championship on Tuesday at 6 p.m. at Franklin Township.
Jake Schwartz had two hits for Jim Thorpe .
For Tamaqua, Emily Titus had two hits.
