Lansford care worker charged with abuse of Jim Thorpe woman

Jim Thorpe police today reported the arrest of Donna Marie Randall, 47, of 233 W. Abbott St., Lansford, on charges that she abused a Jim Thorpe victim.

Detective Lee Marzen is the investigating officer. His report indicates Randall has been arraigned on charges of neglect of care-dependent person, a misdemeanor 1 offense, two counts of simple assault and a summary charge of harassment.She was arraigned before District Justice Edward Lewis of Jim Thorpe, who set bail at $10,000.Police said they were notified the alleged abuse of a family member by a care worker took place at 12:50 a.m. Nov. 5.The alleged incident occurred at 726 Lehigh St. and police were informed the alleged abuse was video-recorded.Police said they interviewed Randall on Nov. 9, identifying her as the care worker.Police said she initially told them she did not recall striking the alleged victim. After being told the incident was recorded, Randall stated the incident "must have happened," police said.
