The levels of industrial activity in the manufacuring, mining, and railroad repair establishments in Carbon County in 1955 were considerably above the levels that prevailed in 1954, Genevieve Blatt, Secretary of Internal Affairs, announced. Employment in 1955 in the reporting establishments was 16 percent larger than it had been the previous year. The metals and metal products industry employed 37 percent of the labor force and the text products industry employed 35 percent of the labor force. Mining accounted for 18 percent of the labor force.
